AEW Double or Nothing (2021) Preview

At Double or Nothing, AEW will have their first live full capacity crowd since March 2020. It’s been a truly ghoulish and awful time ever since the Coronavirus Pandemic. But now that WWE and AEW are returning to touring shows, we can finally see a return to normalcy. The pandemic era of wrestling has been fascinatingly odd to say the least. Now AEW can fully return with Double or Nothing. Two years ago, AEW began a mission to change the wrestling world and they succeeded. What cards will be on the table this time?

Buy-In: Serena Deeb vs. Riho for the NWA Women's Title

Two extremely talented women’s wrestlers will face each other in a rematch from the AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament. Riho pinned Deeb in the tournament and will now receive her title match. These two had an excellent match and I am very much looking forward to the sequel.

PREDICTION: Serena Deeb wins

The Young Bucks vs. Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston for the AEW Tag Team Titles

This is the match I am looking forward to the most. After the Young Bucks super-kicked Moxley and Omega nearly tried to blow up Kingston, The Elite have made some very dangerous enemies. Now the reunited friends of Moxley and Kingston will challenge the “Greatest Tag Team in the World” The Young Bucks. The Bucks have become absolute pricks and it has been wonderful. They are in the midst of a remarkable run and I don’t see it ending anytime soon.

PREDICTION: Young Bucks wins, Killing The Business

Hikaru Shida vs. Britt Baker for the AEW Women's Title

The Joshi Warrior Hikaru Shida has been carrying AEW’s Women’s Division on her back. She is the wrestling ace of the entire company and she will face the self-proclaimed face of the division in Dr. Britt Baker DMD. Baker has been on a roll, racking up wins like no one’s business. It always felt like her destiny to become the AEW’s Women’s Champion and she’s more than ready.

PREDICTION: Britt Baker wins the AEW Women's Title Match

Miro vs. Lance Archer for the TNT Title

After Miro put Darby Allin behind a woodshed. Lance Archer made his murderous intentions known for the TBS TNT Title. Miro has emerged as a full-fledged monster hell-bent on destruction. However, Archer is a killer himself and this will be a pretty good hoss fight if done right.

PREDICTION: Miro wins

Sting & Darby Allin vs. Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page

The egomaniacs, Sky and Page, screwed Darby out of the TNT title by throwing him down a flight of stairs. Now Sting and his protégé want revenger in a tag team match playa. Sky and Page are a random yet entertaining pairing. However, we all know who’s going to win.

PREDICTION: Sting & Darby Allin win

Cody vs. Anthony Ogogo

The American Nightmare vs The British Boxer. Cody was betrayed by his former “friends” in The Factory. Now that Cody has bested QT Marshall, his eyes are set on the brutal fighter Anthony “The Guvner” Ogogo. Truth to be told I am very interested in how this match will turn out to say the least. Cody’s flair for the dramatics and old-school wrestling makes perfect sense against a legitimate fighter. It’s the oldest trick in the book.

PREDICTION: Anthony Ogogo wins

AEW Casino Battle Royale

Who will win it all in the Casino Battle Royal to earn an opportunity at the AEW World Title? The top picks would have to be Christian Cage, Penta El Zero Miedo, Jungle Boy, and Powerhouse Hobbs. Who was the one person in this match that has actually had a confrontation with Kenny Omega this year? Yeah, we all know who’s winning the roulette on this one.

PREDICTION: "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage

Adam Page vs. Brian Cage

Hangman got his ass kicked by Team Taz last month and he wants revenge. Double or Nothing, it’s Hangman vs The Machine. Cage is a physical specimen and an absolute unit. His surprise victory over the cowboy took Page out of the rankings. Can Page get back on the saddle?

PREDICTION: Adam Page

Kenny Omega vs. PAC vs. Orange Cassidy for the AEW World Title

A gamer, a bastard, and a boomer’s idea of a millennial walk into a bar. All jokes aside this is I believe, the very first world title match in AEW contested as a Triple Threat. Orange Cassidy is one of AEW’s breakout stars. Pac is a brutal and sadistic Geordie willing to do anything and everything to inflict pain on people. Then there’s The Cleaner, Kenny Bi-God Omega. Greatest living wrestler in the world today. Got to say, we fans are in for a treat on this one.

PREDICTION: Kenny "69 Me, Don" Omega

Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle in a Stadium Stampede Match

If the Inner Circle loses, then they will disband. The Pinnacle has risen to the top of AEW. After a malicious War Games Blood and Guts match that saw MJF throw Chris Jericho over the cell (for the love of Mankind!). It’s now or never for The Inner Circle to end The Pinnacle. Now they will contest in a Stadium Stampede match. Will Sammy Guevara get run over by Dax’s truck? Will Jake Hager actually get a good haircut? Can Santana & Ortiz leave the IC already? We will find out this Sunday folks!

PREDICTION: The Pinnacle

You can watch AEW's Double or Nothing PPV on May 29, 2021 on B/R Live at 8pm EST!
